Differences between vinyl and SPC flooring

1. Materials: Vinyl flooring is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a polyurethane protective layer on the surface. SPC flooring, on the other hand, is an upgraded version of Vinyl flooring. It is made of stone plastic composite material, with a core composed of a mixture of stone powder and polymer materials. Glue is not used in the production process, making it formaldehyde-free and environmentally friendly flooring option. At the same time, the natural stone powder component of SPC significantly addresses the issue of thermal expansion and contraction that traditional vinyl flooring faces.
2. Load-bearing capacity: Vinyl flooring is relatively soft and may develop dents or deformations under the pressure of heavy objects and furniture. With its main component upgraded to stone powder, SPC flooring has much greater load-bearing capacity and hardness compared to traditional vinyl flooring, effectively solving the problem of dents and deformations caused by heavy objects. Walking barefoot on SPC flooring may feel harder. To alleviate this issue, TaTa flooring adds an IXPE soundproofing pad behind the SPC mainboard. This not only absorbs the noise of falling objects but also acts as a cushion to mitigate pressure, resulting in a foot feel that is almost indistinguishable from vinyl.
3. Thickness and weight: Vinyl can be as thin as less than 2mm, while SPC must be at least 3mm thick. Additionally, SPC flooring is heavier compared to Vinyl flooring.
4. Waterproofing: Both have strong waterproofing properties. The stone powder material in SPC makes it more stable and enhances its waterproofing capabilities. However, both types of flooring meet the waterproofing requirements of ordinary residential and commercial environments, fundamentally solving the problem of traditional wood flooring rotting and deforming in humid conditions.
5. Installation process: Both SPC flooring and high-specification, thicker Vinyl flooring have a click-lock system. With tongue and groove on four sides, they are very easy to install and remove, with very small gaps between the panels. Thinner self-adhesive vinyl sheets do not tongue and groove on the edges and are more prone to curling.
6. Appearance and lifespan: Both types of flooring feature high-performance wear-resistant layers and embossed wood/stone colors and patterns. TaTa SPC flooring can exclusively customize the floor design to meet your aesthetic requirements to the fullest extent. The unique material of SPC flooring also significantly increases the product's lifespan. TaTa flooring comes from a leading SPC flooring factory in China, and we offer a 20-year product quality guarantee.
